How to get your music on Spotify for free

To release your music on Spotify, you need to use a music distributor. Spotify do not allow independent submissions. Our partners over at RouteNote offer free music distribution.

You will need to sign up to their platform and then head to the Distribution tab at the top of the page. Select Create New Release. From there, you can upload your music file(s).

Input your metadata, and follow all instructions on the uploading pages. When it comes to store selection, make sure you choose Spotify. Once your release has been reviewed and approved, it will be sent to Spotify!

RouteNote do not charge for distributing music. However, they will take a 15% cut from any earnings made. It is completely free to distribute to Spotify, they only take a small amount once you start earning from your streams.
